The Bermuda Police Service Fraud Unit continues to receive reports from members of the public regarding e-mails & faxes sent to them from unknown individuals stating that they have won a sum of money or asking for verification of personal information or banking details.

The BPS Fraud Unit would like to inform members of the public that if you have not entered any lottery or contest, it is impossible for you to have won any money. Also, we urge those receiving similar correspondence from unknown individuals not to give out any personal information or banking details. Banking institutions would never ask for personal information or the verification of that information in this manner, as they already have access to such information. Once again, if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is!
