Robbery

Around 11pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported robbery on Mangrove Bay Road in Sandys parish. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 37 year old Sandys parish man, who stated that he withdrew a quantity of cash from an area ATM machine and proceeded to walk to a nearby bus stop. At the bus stop he was confronted by an unknown man who demanded money. The Sandys parish man attempted to flee towards Somerset Country Squire but the suspect caught him, wrestled him to the ground and took the victims wallet before making good his escape on foot along East Shore Road. During the struggle, the victim was also punched in the face. The suspect is described as a black male with a brown moustache, approximately 6 tall of slim build, wearing a grey sweater and dark coloured long pants. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.

Burglary

Around 10:40pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at an Ord Road, Warwick residence. The complainant stated that she was in her living room when she heard noises coming from her bedroom. When she went to investigate, she discovered an unknown man in the bedroom. As the complainant exited her apartment to call the Police, she observed the suspect remove her black leather purse before making good his escape on foot. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 tall of medium build with a short haircut, wearing a brown t-shirt and black long pants. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 5:50pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Hibiscus Lane, Pembroke residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:55am and 5:40pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a silver chain with turquoise stones. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9:25am on Wednesday, Police attended a reported burglary at an Angle Street, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that she was sweeping the front of her property and returned inside to find an unknown man in her home. The suspect made good his escape on foot with a quantity of jewelry and is described as a dark skinned male, 25 – 30 years old, approximately 58” tall of medium build, wearing a black hat and a black jacket. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
