Holiday Advisory

Wed, 2008-03-19

The Bermuda Police Service would advise the public that there will be a very robust police presence over the Holiday Period. We would like to bring a few things to the publics attention.

  • Police will have a very active presence on the road. Please obey all rules of the road as police will be on mobile patrol over the holiday period. We are reminding the public that the speed limit is 35k. We especially would like to take this time to advise the public if they must drink do not drive.
  • Thieves do not take holidays, if you are leaving your residence for any period of time please ensure that you lock and secure all windows and doors and the same applies if you are retiring for the night. Reduce the opportunity and eliminate the risk of you becoming a victim.
  • Parking: Many people will be celebrating e.g. (flying kites) on open fields and parks. We are asking the public to please park in legitimate parking areas. An area of particular concern is the area around Horseshoe Bay Beach . In the past persons have been blocking driveways and impeding the flow of traffic particularly emergency vehicles. Police will be posted in the area and all offenders will be ticketed.

On behalf of the Police Commissioner of Police I would like to wish everyone a safe Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
