Fatal RTC

Around 2:30am on Saturday, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision at the junction of Cedar Avenue and Laffan Street in Pembroke. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling north on Cedar Avenue when the rider, a 30 year old Southampton man, lost control and collided with a tree. The victim was found lying in an unresponsive state by a passerby. He was rushed to KEMH via ambulance but subsequently pronounced dead at 3:30am by an on call physician at the hospital. The motorcycle received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to this collision or anyone who may have seen the victim, Mr. Charles Everett, in the hours prior to his death to contact PC Garvin Aparicio on 295-0011.

Injury RTC

At 2:45 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Church Street and Parliament Street in Pembroke involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the car was traveling east on Church Street and the motorcycle was traveling north on Parliament Street when the vehicles collided at the junction. As a result the rider of the motorcycle, a 28 year old Pembroke man, sustained a serious left leg injury and abrasions to his chest. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The driver of the car, a 34 year old Sandys parish man, was not injured. A pedestrian standing in front of Gregs Steakhouse was hit by debris from the collision and sustained an injury to his ribs and abrasions to both elbows. The 20 year old Pembroke man was also taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The cycle was extensively damaged while the car received extensive front end damage; both vehicles were impounded by Police. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
