Assault

At 10:45pm on Saturday, Police attended KEMH after a reported assault. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 23 year old Smiths parish man, who stated that around 9:45pm that day he was walking in the Sommersall Road, Smiths parish area when he was attacked by an unknown young man. During the struggle the suspect assaulted the victim with a bladed article, before he and another man made good their escape on a motorcycle. The Smiths parish man was treated at the hospital for two lacerations to the head and a laceration to his left arm. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The main suspect was described as a dark skinned male, approximately 511” tall of medium build weighing approximately 140 pounds, wearing a grey jacket and black pants. He is believed to be around 21 years old. The other suspect was described as wearing a dark coloured jacket and was shorter than the main suspect. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the St. Georges Criminal Investigation Unit on 293-2222.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 2 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 11 reported burglaries. There were also 11 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 4 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 6 vehicles reported taken without their owners consent.
