Injury RTC/Impaired Driving

Around 12:40 this morning, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Harbour Road in Paget, near the junction with Chapel Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling east on Harbour Road when the rider, a 31 year old Hamilton parish man, lost control and fell to the ground. The Hamilton parish man sustained abrasions to his hands and fractured ribs as a result. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of his injuries and subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. The motorcycle was extensively damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC

At 7pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of St. John’s Road and Berkeley Road in Pembroke. It appears that an auxiliary cycle was traveling west on St. John’s Road and a motocross cycle with no headlights was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 16 year old Pembroke woman, sustained abrasions to her left leg. The rider of the motocross cycle, a 25 year old Devonshire man, was not injured. The auxiliary cycle received extensive front end damage while the motocross cycle received relatively minor damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 9am on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Pembroke near the junction with Blackwatch Pass, involving a car and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and the car was in a nearby bus lay-by facing in a westerly direction when the driver, a 22 year old Pembroke man, attempted to make a u-turn and the vehicles collided. The rider of the cycle, a 42 year old Hamilton parish woman, sustained facial injuries and an injury to her right leg. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment and is currently recovering on a general ward. The driver of the car was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
