Vehicle Fire

At 2:35 this morning, Police attended a report of a vehicle on fire outside a St. John’s Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that she was awoken at 2:20am by noises outside her home. When she went to investigate she discovered her husband’s motorcycle, which was parked in front of the house, on fire. It also appears that an unknown culprit attempted to set the complainant’s car (which was parked behind the cycle) ablaze. The suspect then made good his escape on foot. The complainant and her husband extinguished the cycle fire and also prevented the car from being fully engulfed in flames. Despite this, the motorcycle was completely destroyed and the car received moderate damage. There were no reported injuries. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene. Both vehicles were subsequently impounded by Police. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Burglary

At 8pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported burglary at a Channel View Lane, Hamilton parish residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 5:30am and 7:45pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Around 7:45pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a burglary at another Channel View Lane, Hamilton parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8am and 7pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home while it was unoccupied. The culprit also stole a quantity of jewelry. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
