Assault/Robbery

Around 5pm on Saturday, Police received a report of an assault. It appears that around 12:30am that day the victim, a 35 year old Warwick man, was in the Church Bay beach, Southampton area when he heard a female calling out for help. He followed the voice and found a woman who appeared to be in distress on the ground. As he attempted to assist her, he was attacked by two unknown males. One of the men used a blunt object to beat the Warwick man about his body while the ‘female in distress’ removed a quantity of cash from the victim. All three suspects then made good their escape. The victim was treated at KEMH for injuries to his left elbow and bruising to his left leg, left arm, back and chest. The two main suspects are described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’8” tall of medium build with a round face, moustache & beard wearing a black shirt and dark coloured jeans; while the female suspect is described as wearing a pink top, white jeans and a black helmet with a full length visor that was tinted black. Around 7:20am on Saturday, Police attended KEMH after a report of a robbery. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 51 year old Pembroke man who is a taxi driver. He stated that sometime between 4am and 5am that day, he picked up a fare on Parsons Road in Pembroke. The unknown man indicated that he wanted to go to Valley View Heights in Devonshire . The taxi driver agreed and drove towards the area. However, when he stopped near Dunkley’s Dairy to confirm directions to Valley View Heights the suspect, who was in the back seat, struck the taxi driver in the head a couple of times and took a quantity of cash from the Pembroke man’s shirt pocket. He then made good his escape on foot. The victim attended KEMH for treatment of his injuries, which were relatively minor. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’9” tall, solid build, wearing a white T-shirt and dark coloured pants. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Handbag Snatch

At 11:10am on Saturday, Police attended a reported handbag snatch at the Garden Market on Serpentine Road in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 76 year old Pembroke woman, who stated that around 11am that day she parked her car at the Garden Market and exited the vehicle to go shopping. As she was walking toward the store, an unknown man approached her and snatched her handbag from under her arm. The suspect then ran off and made good his escape as the passenger on a red scooter. Two members of the public attempted to chase the suspects, but the suspects managed to elude them. The victim was not injured. The main suspect is described as a black male of medium build and average height with an unshaven beard. He was wearing an orange T-shirt and a black helmet. The rider of the cycle is described as a black male wearing a black helmet. The handbag contained a cellular phone, jewelry, a quantity of cash and personal items.
