Injury RTC

Around 9:40pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke, near the junction with North Shore Road. It appears that two men were on a motorcycle traveling south on Blackwatch Pass when the rider lost control, causing the cycle to mount a sidewalk and collide with a wall. As a result the men on the motorcycle, a 31 year old Pembroke man and a 49 year old Smith’s parish man, sustained lacerations to the left hand and left foot and facial injuries/fractured legs respectively. Both men were taken to KEMH for treatment; the Pembroke man was treated and released, while the Smith’s parish man is currently in stable condition in the Intensive Care Unit. It is unclear at this time which of the men was in control of the motorcycle when the collision occurred. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident to contact PC Shem Obeius on 295-0011.
