Robbery

At 2:40pm on Friday, Police attended a reported robbery on Stepney Lane in Pembroke. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 65 year old Pembroke man, who stated that around 2:30pm that day two unknown men on a motorcycle approached him outside his residence. The passenger on the motorcycle got off, put the Pembroke resident into a headlock and removed the 65 year old man’s wallet before both suspects made good their escape on the cycle traveling west on North Shore Road. The victim complained of slight pain to his neck but was otherwise uninjured. The wallet contained a quantity of cash and personal items. The suspects are described as two black males in their late teens or early 20s, wearing white T-shirts and black helmets, riding a silver or black motorcycle. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise members of the public attending the World Rugby Classic that there is limited parking in the Police Headquarters area. Any vehicles found parked illegally will be ticketed and may be towed away at the owner’s expense.

Weekend Activity

Over the weekend no one was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and there were 12 reported burglaries. There were also 17 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 10 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 5 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
