Injury RTC

Around 12:30am on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Church Road involving a motorcycle and a taxi. It appears that the taxi and the motorcycle were both traveling west on Middle Road, with the taxi in front of the motorcycle. The driver of the taxi, a 67 year old Warwick man, saw a woman walking along the road who appeared to flag him down, so he indicated and pulled to the side of the road. The rider of the motorcycle, a 23 year old Southampton man, was unable to avoid the taxi and collided into the back of it. The Southampton man sustained a broken right wrist and lacerations to his face. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment; however, his injuries do not appear to be life threatening. The driver of the taxi was not injured. The taxi received extensive rear end damage while the motorcycle received extensive front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

Around 10:30pm on Saturday, Police received a report of a robbery on Cobbs Hill Road in Paget. It appears that the victims (a 29 year old Paget man, a 28 year old Paget man, a 27 year old Paget man, a 29 year old Devonshire man, a 31 year old Southampton man and a 29 year old Sandy’s parish man) were walking north along Cobbs Hill Road towards Middle Road when they were approached by a group of unknown men who demanded money. One of the suspects took a quantity of cash from one of the victims before all the suspects made good their escape on foot, heading south on Cobbs Hill Road towards Ord Road . None of the victims were injured. The suspects are described as six black males with low haircuts, approximately 18 – 22 years old wearing hooded tops and blue jeans. Police searched the area for the suspects; however, they were not located. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Weekend Activity

Over the weekend there were 3 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and 5 reported burglaries. There were also 23 reported damage only road traffic collisions, 9 reported road traffic collisions resulting in injury and 4 vehicles reported taken without their owners’ consent.
