The Bermuda Police Service is sponsoring a Police Boat Naming Competition for its new Police boat, which is expected to arrive in Bermuda before the end of the year.

The competition will be open to all elementary, middle school & high school students currently enrolled in a school on the island. Students must submit their entries via e-mail by ending them to pmr@bps.bm. The entry should contain their full name, the school they attend and the name of the boat, as well as a paragraph stating why they chose that particular name. Entries will be judged by a panel consisting of 50% Police personnel and 50% non Police personnel. The naming competition starts on Friday, May 19, 2006 and ends on Friday, May 26, 2006.

The winning individual will receive:

• An I-Pod
• A trophy
• The winner's school will receive a $300 donation to the library
• The winner will receive a trip on board the boat for his/her class
