Two Motorcyclists Require Hospital Treatment After Devonshire Collision

Two motorcyclists – said to be a 40-year-old Sandys parish man and a 21-year-old Sandys parish woman – required treatment at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after colliding in the vicinity of Devonshire Bay around 6pm Tuesday, 4th May. Both motorcycles were extensively damaged.

It now appears that the 21-year-old woman was riding east along South Road and attempted to turn onto Devonshire Bay Road, while the 40-year-old man was riding west along South Road, when the collision occurred at the junction of South Road and Devonshire Bay Road in Devonshire.

Apparently the 21-year-old woman sustained facial injuries, while the 40-year-old man sustained a broken rib and an ankle injury. At last check both remained in the hospital.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are still encouraged to call 211 as soon as possible.
