Traffic Diversion Due to Collision [Updated]

Police responded to a report of a road traffic collision that took place around 10:15am on North Shore Road in Devonshire, approximately 200 metres east of Barkers Hill.

It appears that a car was being driven along North Shore Road when it collided with roadside barriers and went down an embankment.

The female driver is currently being extricated from the vehicle by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel and her condition at this time is unknown. Traffic is being diverted away from the scene and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible until further notice.

An update will be provided on this incident in due course.

Update: The driver, a 43 year old Devonshire woman, was extricated from the car and taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to thank staff from Green Leaves Landscaping who were quickly on scene and secured the vehicle involved with ropes. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.

It is anticipated that the section of road closed off due to this collision should re-open in the next 15 minutes.
