At 2:16pm today [2-May] police and first responders attended a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Marsh Lane.

It appears that a man driving a van along the said road, when he lost control of the vehicle causing him to hit a pillar attached to the First Baptist Church. As a result, the van turned over onto its side and three men were trapped inside.

An off duty fireman who was in the area at the time assisted extricating the men out of the van.

All three man were transported to the King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

The area has been cordoned off, while the Forensic Support Unit and the Traffic Collision Investigators are processing the scene.
