Inquiries Underway Into Two Separate Incidents of Reported Theft

Stolen Motorcycle

Around 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, police received a report of a motorcycle theft on Middle Road, Sandys.

Apparently a female resident was travelling east along Middle Road when her helmet fell off.

She parked the bike in the bus layby along Middle Road near the junction with George’s Bay Road, Sandys and went to retrieve her helmet.

As she did so, an unknown male who was standing in the bus layby, proceeded to get onto the motorcycle and rode off in a westerly direction.

The suspect is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, dark complexioned, wearing all black clothing and a black helmet. The stolen motorcycle is said to be a black Sym HD 125 with licence plate CN448.

Visitors’ Handbag Stolen

Shortly after 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, police received a report of a theft from a rental auxiliary cycle.

A visiting Canadian national told police that while travelling along Somerset Road in Sandys with another Canadian visitor pillion passenger, an unknown black motorcycle with two persons wearing dark visors, bumped the back of their rental scooter.

The suspects then removed a black and purple knapsack from the basket, containing a quantity of cash and electronic devices and escaped.

Enquiries into both incidents are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the main police number, 295-0011.


All incidents are under investigation.
