Appeal for Witnesses to Three Weekend Incidents

Car Overturned - Around 5:55 p.m. on Friday, 9th April 2021, police attended a reported single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road, Southampton.

The vehicle was traveling west in the vicinity of Industrial Park, when the driver reportedly swayed onto the opposite side of the road and struck a wall, causing the car to flip on its roof.

The driver complained of pain to his ribs, back and neck.

He was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to his injuries which were not considered life-threatening.

Enquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Two Vehicle Collision

Around 9:00 p.m. on Friday 9th April police and other first responders responded to a report of a two vehicle collision in the area of Bethel AME Church on North Shore Road, Hamilton Parish.

Initial investigations indicated a motorcar pulled out of the entrance of the church carpark and made a right turn headed east on North Shore Road, when it was struck by a motorcycle headed west, reportedly travelling at a high rate of speed.

The motorcycle rider was thrown about 60ft into the air before landing on the roadway.

He is said to have sustained a chest injury which was described as life-threatening and was transported via ambulance to hospital for treatment.

Enquiries into this collision are ongoing.

Pigs Field Fire

Shortly before 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, 10th April, police attended a report of a fire at Pigs Field on Bandroom Lane, Devonshire.

Upon arrival officers found the playground equipment at the park engulfed.

Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service personnel responded with two appliances and shortly after extinguished the blaze.

An investigation of the scene by the fire investigator and officers from the police Criminal Investigations Unit determined the cause of the fire was suspicious.

Enquiries into all incidents are ongoing.
