Another Two Men Arrested in Connection With Assault of Security Officer

Two 24 year old men – both believed to be from St. George’s – have been arrested in connection with the assault of a security officer at East End Mini Yacht Club that occurred around 12:30am Saturday, August 24th.

Both men remain in police custody at this time pending further inquiries.

A 38 year old St. George’s man arrested shortly after the incident has since been released on police bail.

Witnesses or members of the public with relevant information or video footage of this incident are again encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

19 Year Old Woman Arrested for Stabbing Released on Police Bail

A 19 year old woman arrested in connection with the stabbing of an 18 year old Devonshire woman around 12:30am Sunday, August 25th outside the Rum Bum Beach Bar, Horseshoe Bay beach, Southampton has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

The appeal continues for witnesses or members of the public with relevant information or video footage of the stabbing to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

2nd Teen Arrested in Connection With Handbag Theft Released on Police Bail

A 17 year old male arrested in connection with the theft of a handbag from a 52 year old female Canadian visitor’s rental scooter basket that occurred around 12:15pm Friday, August 23rd in the parking lot at Horseshoe Bay beach, Southampton has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Any witnesses are still encouraged to call the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.

Community Outreach Initiative at Local Café in City of Hamilton Thursday

Sergeant Stephen Gunn of the Community Action Team (which includes Parish Constables) will be starting a new community outreach initiative at the Chatterbox Café, #7 Reid Street, Washington Mall, City of Hamilton on Thursday 29th August from 8:30am until 10am.

Sergeant Gunn explained: “The purpose of this is to introduce myself to the community, and to give residents and visitors to the City of Hamilton the opportunity to share concerns or ideas.

I will also be able to provide residents with a single point of contact for their respective parishes and Schools Resource Officers. I am a huge fan of meeting people and invite members of the public to stop by for a chat.”

Community Clinic at Cousins Variety in St. George’s Thursday

Community Officer Constable Adrian Haynes will be holding a community clinic Thursday 29th August from 4pm until 7pm at Cousins Variety in St George’s.

Area residents as well as other members of the public are encouraged to attend to discuss any concerns they may have regarding their neighbourhoods and to receive general crime prevention advice.
