4th Annual 'B' Watch Central Give a Child a Christmas

This afternoon (Thursday 6th December), ‘B’ Watch Central helped to make Christmas extra special for two primary school students.

This is the 4th year of the community initiative they call “Give a Child a Christmas.” Each year the Watch selects a school from the central parishes and asks the school guidance counselor to identify two students, one male and one female, whose families may need a helping hand during the Christmas holiday. This year’s recipients are 7 year old Kaia Swan-Dill and 5 year old Jhai Tucker from Elliot Primary School.

The initiative came about as a way of giving back to the community and showing a softer side of policing from frontline officers. The gifts include toys and essential items donated by ‘B’ Watch Central.

‘B’ Watch Central members: Sergeant Carl Gibbons, Sergeant Albert Williams, Sergeant Kenten Trott, Acting Sergeant Mervin Homer, Constable Nicole Outerbridge, Constable Preston Gill, Constable D’Vario Thompson, Constable Justice McDermot, Constable George Edmead, Constable Kori Jackman, Constable Raisa Tuzo, Constable Talitha Simons, Constable Oba Swan, Constable Teriann Smith and Constable Shawn Maybury.

Additional contributors: Constable Peter Philpott, Sergeant Sharnita Tankard, Constable Dionne Lansiquot and Constable Carol Smith.

Also on hand were Inspector Troy Glasgow, Superintendent Na’imah Astwood and Superintendent James Howard.

Brief remarks were made by Acting Sergeant Homer and both Superintendents before Kaia and Jhai received their gifts.

All incidents are under investigation. Police are appealing to members of the public who have witnessed these incidents or may have information pertaining to them to contact their respective Police Station, Police Headquarters at 295-0011 or the confidential Crimestoppers Hotline on 1 (800) 623-8477.
