Around 5:15 this morning, Police received a report of a fire at the Bus Depot on Beacon Hill Road in Sandy’s parish. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene, with two appliances and 15 firefighters. On arrival several buses were engulfed in flames. Officers immediately alerted the occupants of residences in the area and advised them to evacuate. A total of seven buses were damaged. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact Inspector Tracy Adams on 295-0011.

Around 12 noon on Saturday, Police attended a reported fire at Karibuni Ltd. on Somerset Road in Sandy’s parish. The Bermuda Fire Service also attended the scene, with five appliances and 12 firefighters. On arrival the building was completely engulfed in flames. A large crowd of onlookers also gathered at the scene, causing some traffic congestion in the area. A male employee of Karibuni Ltd. was taken to KEMH for treatment (smoke inhalation). There appeared to be no suspicious circumstances. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Witness Appeal

Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to the serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on Crow Lane in Paget that occurred around 6:25am on Friday, March 25. Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC Michael Butcher on 295-0011.
