The 26 year old was rushed to KEMH via ambulance for treatment of serious head injuries and a broken right arm. The Warwick man is currently in the Intensive Care Unit in critical condition. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact PC Michael Butcher on 295-0011.

High Speed Chase

Around 1:45 this morning, Police on mobile patrol on Trimingham Hill in Paget observed a silver BMW traveling west into the City of Hamilton. Based on information received about the suspected driver of the vehicle, the Police vehicle turned around and pursued the car. The silver BMW immediately accelerated and the Police vehicle activated its emergency equipment (lights & siren). The Police vehicle pursued the car along East Broadway, up Lane Hill, along Middle Road, down Corkscrew Hill, over Trimingham Hill and along South Road, where the silver BMW reached speeds in excess of 150km/h. At this point the Police vehicle, bearing in mind the safety of other road users, decided to discontinue the pursuit in the area of Brighton Hill in Devonshire. The car was eventually located unoccupied at a Poinciana Crescent, Devonshire residence. The vehicle was subsequently impounded and taken to the Police Impound yard. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact Inspector Pedro on 299-4368.
