Breaking & Entering

Around 7:05 this morning, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Ridgeway Road, Pembroke residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 10:30pm on Wednesday and 6:30am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a black leather bag, 2 cellular phones, $450 in cash and other personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Attempted Robbery

Around 8:40pm on Wednesday, Police attended a reported disturbance on Watlington Road in Devonshire near Lindo’s Market. On arrival officers spoke with the victims, a 19 year old Devonshire man, an 18 year old Hamilton parish man and a 15 year old Devonshire boy. While at a basketball tournament at Mount St. Agnes, the 15 year old Devonshire boy was approached by a young man who demanded his jewelry. The 15 year old ignored the demand. The three then left Mount St. Agnes in a car and noticed they were being followed by another vehicle. As they stopped at the stop sign on Watlington Road, the small grey car following pulled up behind them. At that point approximately 7 young men got out of the vehicle and the victims exited their vehicle. The victims recognized one of the suspects as the young man from MSA earlier. An altercation ensued, with one of the suspects wielding a small machete. As a result, two of the victims received minor injuries. The suspects then ran east on Watlington Road before getting into the small grey car and making good their escape. The main suspect is described as a black male wearing a long black T-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap. He is believed to be in his 20s. The 19 year old Devonshire man and 18 year old Hamilton parish man were treated at KEMH for a laceration to the lip and a laceration to the hand respectively and released. The 15 year old Devonshire boy was not injured. Nothing was taken from the victims during the incident. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
