Robbery

Around 4:25pm on Friday, Police attended a reported robbery on Gorham Road in Pembroke. On our arrival, officers spoke with the victim, a 49 year old Warwick woman, who stated that around 4pm she was at her desk in a Woodbourne Hall doctor's office when a man entered, walked past waiting patients and snatched her handbag from a chair next to the desk. She chased the man as he fled the scene and managed to grab hold of his left arm; however, the man pushed her off with a hard shove to the face, running downstairs and out of the building. The Warwick woman then confronted the man in the cycle parking bay and tried to stop him from leaving on the scooter he was riding, injuring her left "pinky" finger in the process. Despite this, the suspect made good his escape, turning right on Woodbourne Avenue. The handbag contained an undisclosed amount of cash and other personal items. The suspect is described as a 5'8" tall black male, of medium build with unkempt black hair and a cigarette in his mouth. He was wearing a black padded jacket and is believed to be in his 40s. The victim was treated at KEMH for a broken left "pinky" finger. Inquiries into this incident are underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Hamilton Criminal Investigation Unit on 295-0011.

Breaking & Entering

Around 12:15pm today, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Garthowen Road, Devonshire residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainant who stated that sometime between 5:30pm on Saturday and 10am today, an unknown culprit gained entry into her home. The culprit stole a black handbag containing a Nokia cellular phone and other personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

At 7:55pm on Friday, Police attended a reported breaking and entering at a Harbour Road, Warwick residence. On arrival officers spoke with the complainants who stated that sometime between 6:55pm and 7:35pm that day, an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into their home. The culprit(s) stole a safe containing an undisclosed amount of cash, jewelry and personal items. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
