At 7:45 this morning, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Southampton near Traditions Restaurant. Details are unclear; however, it appears that an 8 year old girl was walking across the pedestrian crossing when a motorcycle traveling west overtook a car and struck her. She was taken to KEMH for treatment of bruising and released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery

At 11:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported robbery at the Southampton Arms on Middle Road in Southampton. On arrival officers spoke with the victim, a 61 year old Southampton man, who stated that he was inside the bar preparing for the next day when a man entered and demanded money. The man then removed three bank bags containing an unknown amount of cash and made good his escape on foot towards the Railway Trail. The victim was not injured in the incident. The suspect is described as a dark skinned male, approximately 5’6” – 5’8” tall of medium build, clean shaven with a short afro. He was wearing an army green camouflage t-shirt with blue jean shorts and is believed to be in his 30s. Police are appealing for any witnesses to this incident or anyone with any information to contact the Somerset Criminal Investigation Unit on 234-1010.
