Around 3:45pm on Saturday, Police attended a reported single vehicle collision resulting in injury on Middle Road in Devonshire near the junction with Christ Church Lane. It appears that the car, a silver Hyundai, was traveling west on Middle Road when a tree fell on top of the vehicle. The driver, a 41 year old St. George's woman and her daughter (front seat passenger), a 15 year old St. George's girl, were trapped inside the car momentarily, but were able to escape through a rear passenger window with the help of other motorists who stopped and came to their aid. Both mother and daughter sustained minor injuries (abrasions), were treated at KEMH and released. Island Construction personnel attended the scene to remove the tree from the car, which was extensively damaged.

At 3:45pm on Friday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Idlewood Drive in Hamilton parish, involving four vehicles. It appears that a blue truck was traveling south on North Shore Road when the driver stopped to allow a motorcycle to exit Idlewood Drive. A yellow heavy truck traveling south behind the blue truck collided with the rear of the stopped vehicle, pushing the blue truck into the path of a white truck traveling north, resulting in a head on collision. An auxiliary cycle traveling north behind the white truck then collided with the rear of that truck. The driver and passenger of the white truck were trapped inside the vehicle and had to be cut out by Bermuda Fire Service personnel. The driver of the yellow heavy truck was not injured. The driver of the blue truck, a 49 year old Warwick man was not injured and his passenger, a 44 year old Warwick man received relatively minor injuries (whiplash). The driver of the white truck, a 36 year old Smith's parish man, sustained head injuries while his passenger sustained lacerations to both his legs. The female rider of the auxiliary cycle sustained a minor laceration above her right eye. The 36 year old Smith's parish man remains in the Intensive Care Unit in fair condition; all other injured parties were treated at KEMH and subsequently released. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
