Injury RTC in Sandys Parish - Around 10:45pm on Monday, Police responded to a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of Mangrove Bay Road and Loyalty Estate in Sandys parish involving a van and a pedal cycle. It appears that the van was traveling along Mangrove Bay Road and the pedal cycle was traveling along Loyalty Estate when they collided at the junction. The pedal cyclist, a 34 year old Hamilton parish man, sustained head/facial injuries; however his injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The driver of the van, a 36 year old Southampton man, was not injured. Both the van and the pedal cycle were damaged. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Road Safety Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the motoring public to slow down and to drive as well as ride responsibly on the island’s roads. Additionally, we urge those traveling in cars to use their seatbelts at all times and make sure any children traveling in the vehicle are appropriately restrained. Those traveling on motorcycles should always fasten their helmets and avoid making a third lane.

Burglary Advisory

The Bermuda Police Service continues to advise the public to remain vigilant regarding burglaries by making sure windows and doors are locked before leaving their homes unattended, even for short periods of time. Residents are encouraged to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their neighbourhoods to Police on 295-0011.
