Update – Damage Only RTC

Around 1:25pm Friday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision (which was originally reported as a road traffic collision resulting in injury) on North Shore Road in Smith’s parish near the junction with Store Hill. It appears that a truck was traveling east on North Shore Road when the driver, a 35 year old Sandys parish man lost control and collided with an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn. As a result the eastbound and westbound lanes were blocked by the truck and the load of rubble it was carrying, which spilled across the road. This caused traffic to be diverted as well as traffic delays in the area. The driver of the truck was not injured; however he was taken to KEMH via ambulance as a precaution. He was subsequently discharged from the hospital. The truck received minor damage and was eventually removed from the roadway, allowing normal traffic flow to resume.
