Marine Collision

Around 3:30pm on Sunday, Marine Police were on patrol when they received a report of a man injured and unresponsive in the water near Cambridge Beaches. Officers made their way to Cambridge Beaches and found an unresponsive male in the water on his back with his head being supported. The unresponsive male was lifted on to the Police boat, put prostrate on his back and then transported to 9 Beaches were paramedics could have better access. The man was then taken to KEMH for treatment.

It appears that the man was being towed behind a jet ski on a yellow inflatable tube when he fell off the tube into the water, causing his injuries. The man whilst at the hospital underwent a CAT scan; however, it was ascertained that he recovered sufficiently from his injuries and was released from the hospital.

Burglary

Meanwhile, a complainant states that yesterday around 1pm they left their home in Whale Bay in Southampton and returned around 11pm only to find that a thief had entered their home, made a search and removed a number of items from the dwelling. Stolen was an IBM laptop computer in a carry case, a Sony digital camera, an Olympus digital camera, a Treo 750 PDA, a Louis Vuitton handbag, a set of Tiffany cuff links, numerous pieces of jewelry, assorted coins and an undisclosed amount of money. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Impaired Driving

Police were on mobile patrol at 11:10am Sunday on Front Street, in the City of Hamilton when they observed a man traveling on a motorcycle in an easterly direction. The man was driving in an erratic fashion, wobbling from side to side. He was stopped, and officers noticed that the suspect smelled of intoxicants, his eyes were glazed over and he appeared unsteady on his feet. He was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and taken to the Hamilton Police Station, where he was detained.

Weekend Activity

Over the Cup Match Holiday there were 16 stolen vehicles, 10 people arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, 16 burglaries and 46 road traffic collisions, with 10 resulting in injury.
