Burglary - Around 7:30am today, Police received a report of a burglary at a Harrington Sound Road, Smith’s parish residence. The complainant stated that sometime overnight an unknown culprit or culprits gained entry into the home. The culprit(s) stole a 32” Samsung flat screen TV and a Dell laptop computer from the lower apartment as well as a black laptop computer, a Canon digital camera and personal items from the main house. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Reported Gunshots - Around 7:05am on Sunday, Police received a report of what were believed to be gunshots in the North Shore Road/Band Room Lane, Pembroke area. Officers attended the scene a short time later and made a thorough search of the vicinity – however, after completing the search and speaking with area residents, nothing was found to substantiate the gunshot reports. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Burglary - Around 3:40am today, Police were on mobile patrol in St. George’s when they received a report of a burglary at Robertson’s Drug Store. On arrival officers discovered an unknown man inside the premises. The suspect, a 24 year old St. George’s man, attempted to escape but was quickly apprehended inside the building and arrested in connection with the burglary. A 19 year old St. George’s man found acting suspiciously near the drug store was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery - Around 8:20pm on Tuesday, Police received a report of a robbery at the St. George’s Club. It appears that the victim, a 26 year old Pembroke man, was walking along Rose Hill Street around 8:15pm that day when he was accosted by two unknown men, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. The offenders demanded cash, with one of them removing the victim’s wallet and a Blackberry cellular phone before both men made good their escape on foot towards the golf course. The wallet contained a quantity of cash and personal items. The Pembroke man was apparently uninjured.

Reported Gunshots/Suspicious Activity - There were increased high visibility Police patrols throughout the island over the weekend. Stop and searches were carried out at various locations and arrests made for a variety of offences. However, there were reports of what were believed to be gunshots heard in the Friswells Road, Devonshire area around 6:45pm Friday; the Reid Street/Burnaby Street, Pembroke area around 1:20am Saturday; and The Glebe Road/St. Monica’s Road, Pembroke area around 12:15am today (Sunday). Loud noises were also heard in the Serpentine Road/Trelawney Lane area of Pembroke around 8pm Friday.

Missing Person - The Bermuda Police Service is appealing for the public’s assistance in locating 54 year old George Bossert (pictured right). A missing person report was received on Tuesday, December 15th 2009; however Mr. Bossert, a French national, was last seen in August 2009. He is reportedly a well known chef and butcher, previously working at local restaurants. Mr. Bossert last resided at the Salvation Army Shelter on Parsons Road in Pembroke and the Emergency Housing complex in St. David’s.

Injury RTC - Around 8pm on Sunday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on Blackwatch Pass in Pembroke involving an auxiliary cycle and a motorcycle. It appears that the motorcycle was traveling north on Blackwatch Pass and the auxiliary cycle was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles collided. The rider of the motorcycle, a 30 year old Pembroke man, sustained head injuries and abrasions to his left foot while his passenger, a 29 year old Pembroke woman, also sustained head injuries. The rider of the auxiliary cycle, a 31 year old Smith’s parish woman, sustained head injuries and a fractured left wrist.

Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 64 year old Stephen Perinchief of Southampton. At 6:50pm on Friday, Police received a report of a sudden death at a Lighthouse Lane, Southampton residence. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service also attended the scene. Mr. Perinchief was found in an unresponsive state inside his home by a family member. He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by an on call physician at 8:15pm. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing. The cause of death has not been determined and an autopsy will be carried out to assist in determining the cause of death.

Injury RTC - Around 10:30pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near the junction with Harlem Heights Road. It appears that a jeep and a car were both traveling east on North Shore Road with the jeep in front of the car. The jeep indicated to turn left and the car collided with the rear of the jeep, pushing it into a wall. The driver of the jeep, a 46 year old Hamilton parish woman, was not injured; however her front seat passenger, an 88 year old Florida woman, complained of pain to her chest and neck. She was taken to KEMH via ambulance.

Robbery - Around 8pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a robbery at the Crawl Hill Esso service station. It appears that the victim, a 16 year old young man from Hamilton parish, was approached by two unknown young men earlier at the bus terminal in the City of Hamilton. The young men attempted to befriend him and asked to listen to his I-Pod. The Hamilton parish teenager allowed the unknown young men to do so before getting on a St. George’s bound bus, which the two unknown young men also boarded. When the 16 year old exited the bus on North Shore Road in Hamilton parish, the two unknown young men followed him into the Crawl Hill Esso service station.

Injury RTC - Around 12:30pm on Wednesday, Police received a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury in the vicinity of Henry VIII Restaurant in Southampton. It appears that a car was driving through the restaurant’s car park when the driver, a 69 year old Devonshire man, lost control and collided with a wall. The Devonshire man sustained a head injury and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The front seat passenger, an 83 year old Maine woman sustained a broken thumb, cuts and abrasions. She was also taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The car was extensively damaged. The wall apparently received minor damage.

Assault - Around 10:30pm on Sunday, Police received a report of an assault. The victim, a 17 year old young man from Warwick, stated that he and another young man were riding a motorcycle along Khyber Pass in Warwick when they were accosted by two young men travelling in a black car in the area of Random Lane. The victim sustained facial injuries and was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The other individual on the motorcycle was not injured. It appears that the victim knew his assailants. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery - Around 10:50pm on Friday, Police received a report of a robbery. The victim, a 21 year old Sandys parish man, stated that around 9:45pm that day he was standing next to his Yamaha motorcycle license #BM 724 outside the Warwick Lanes Bowling Alley when he was attached by two unknown men. One of the men reportedly brandished a bladed article. However, the Sandys parish man was not injured. The offenders made good their escape with the victim’s motorcycle via Pearman’s Hill.

Assault - Around 9am today, Police received a report of an assault on North Shore Road in Pembroke. Details about what occurred are unclear at this time; however, it appears that the victim, a 39 year old Sandys parish man, was in the C-Mart/‘Ducking Stool’ area when he was attacked by an unknown assailant or assailants with a bladed article. The Sandys parish man sustained injuries to his left arm. He was taken to KEMH via ambulance for treatment. The suspects are described as two men dressed in all black wearing black helmets and riding a black motorcycle. Inquiries into this incident are underway.
