Update: Fatal Marine Incident - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 3 year old Stanwondae Swan. The young boy died after being pulled from the water at Kindley Field Road, St. George's near the BAS kitchen around 1:30pm on Sunday. A 2 year old boy who was also pulled from the water at that same location remains in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and at last check was in stable condition.

Update: Teenagers Injured in Assault - At last check the 16 year old young man from Sandys parish more seriously injured in an assault that occurred in the area of Tankard Lane in Sandys parish around 1:37am Saturday was being treated on a general ward at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. It is anticipated that he will be released in the near future. The other victim, a 16 year old young man from Pembroke, sustained a swollen right eye.

Vehicle Fire - Around 12:30pm on Thursday, Police received a report of a vehicle fire on Ballast Point Road in St. George’s. It appears that a cement truck was delivering a load of cement to a Ballast Point Road residence. As the truck attempted to leave the area it failed to make it up a hill, sliding back down and going over an embankment. As a result the cement truck entered the main road, disrupting traffic for a time. The truck driver, a 38 year old St. George’s man, managed to get out of the vehicle before the front end was engulfed in flames. The Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service attended the scene and extinguished the fire.

Recovered Vehicle - At 9:05am today, Police attended the Botanical Gardens where they located a red Toyota Yaris license #00682 in a parking lot at the premises after receiving information from a member of the public. The car had been reported removed from Jennings Bay Road in Southampton sometime between 10pm on Monday and 8am on Tuesday. The vehicle was impounded by Police and inquiries are ongoing.

Damage Only RTC - At 5:10pm on Tuesday, Police attended a reported single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish. It appears that a truck was traveling west on Harrington Sound Road when it collided with the Manor House Bridge. As a result both the bridge and truck were damaged; however the truck driver, a 51 year old Warwick man, was not injured. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Injury RTC - At 8:35pm on Thursday, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury at the junction of North Shore Road and Princess Estate Road in Pembroke involving two cars and a motorcycle. It appears that traffic traveling west and east on North Shore Road had stopped to allow a car to exit Princess Estate Road. However, as the car exited Princess Estate Road a motorcycle was traveling west on North Shore Road and a collision occurred. The rider of the motorcycle, a 34 year old Pembroke man, sustained head and facial injuries as well as bruising to his right shoulder and leg.

Confirmed Firearm Incident in Devonshire - Both the 16 year old Pembroke man and the 22 year old Pembroke man injured in the shooting around 10:50pm on Wednesday in the Friswells Road/Middle Terrace, Devonshire area remain in the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital recovering. They are both in stable condition on a general ward. Police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with any information about this incident to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 299-8106 or the independent, confidential 24 hour Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline on 800-8477.

Injury RTC - Around 9am today, Police attended a reported road traffic collision resulting in injury on North Shore Road in Devonshire near the junction with Loyal Hill Pass involving a pedestrian and a motorcycle. It appears that the pedestrian, a 32 year old St. George’s woman, had exited a bus in the area. As she attempted to cross the road, a motorcycle traveling east on North Shore Road collided with her. The pedestrian apparently sustained minor injuries and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. The rider of the motorcycle, a 49 year old Devonshire man, sustained cuts to his left leg & left arm.

Burglary - Around 12:45pm on Friday, Police received a report of a burglary at a Bow Lane, Southampton residence. The complainant stated that sometime between 8:30am and 12:30pm that day, an unknown culprit gained entry into the home while it was unoccupied. The culprit stole a PlayStation 3 video game system and a Dell laptop computer. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Fatal RTC - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 28 year old Katrina Flood of Pembroke. It appears that around 3:30am Saturday June 5th she was riding a motorcycle traveling east on Crow Lane in Paget near the junction with Corkscrew Hill when she lost control. As a result Ms. Flood sustained serious head and internal injuries. She was pronounced dead at 12:30am Saturday June 12th by an on call physician at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Ms. Flood.

Update: Removed Vehicle Located - At 10:40am today, Police located a missing blue Mitsubishi Pajero jeep in the Spanish Point, Pembroke area. The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner. It had been reported stolen from Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish, near the junction with Lolly’s Well Road on the evening of Saturday, June 5th.

Burglary - Around 12:10am today, Police responded to a report of a burglary that took place at a residence in the Ord Road/Cobbs Hill Road, Warwick area. Upon Police arrival the complainants stated that unknown culprits gained entry into their home and brandished what appeared to be a firearm. The intruders assaulted the two men inside before making good their escape empty handed. The two victims were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries (which were not gunshot related) and subsequently released. We want to reassure the community that this was not a random occurrence.

Damage Only RTC - Around 6:50am today, Police received a report of a single vehicle damage only road traffic collision on Harbour Road in Paget near the junction with Valley Road. Details about how the collision occurred are unclear at this time; however, it appears that a car traveling along Harbour Road collided with a wall, ending up over the embankment. The driver was apparently uninjured; the car received front end damage. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Robbery - At 3:05am on Sunday, Police received a report of a robbery. It appears that a taxi driver picked up a fare in the City of Hamilton area. The unknown man asked to be taken to the Bailey’s Bay, Hamilton parish area. Once there the taxi driver was directed to the Callen Glen Drive area. When the taxi stopped, two unknown men approached the vehicle, one brandishing what appeared to be a firearm. All three suspects subsequently made good their escape on foot with a quantity of cash heading east along the Railway Trail. The taxi driver, a 65 year old Devonshire man, was not injured.

Serious Injury RTC - Around 2:55am today, Police attended a reported serious single vehicle road traffic collision resulting in injury on South Road in Paget near the junction with Point Finger Road. It appears that a motorcycle was traveling along South Road when the male rider lost control and collided with a wall. As a result he sustained a serious injury to his right leg and was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check he was in stable condition. Traffic was diverted away from the scene for approximately two hours. Inquiries into this incident are underway.

Update: Sudden Death - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 79 year old Etoile Tucker of Warwick. Mrs. Tucker's lifeless body was noticed by a member of the public in the waters near Darrell's Wharf around 12:55pm on Tuesday. She was subsequently pronounced dead at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital. The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family & friends of Mrs. Tucker. Foul play is not suspected; however inquiries are ongoing.
