Upcoming Road Sobriety Checkpoints: January 25th – 27th

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the public that the next series of road sobriety checkpoints (as specified in the Official Gazette Notice Wednesday, January 16th) will be conducted starting this Friday, January 25th.

The checkpoints will be in effect in Hamilton parish, Devonshire, Pembroke, Paget, Warwick and Southampton on Friday, January 25th, Saturday, January 26th and Sunday, January 27th.

62 Year Old Male Pedestrian Struck by Car Remains Stable in ICU

At last check this afternoon (January 22nd) the 62 year old Hamilton parish man seriously injured when a car struck him as he walked along North Shore Road in Hamilton parish near Trinity Church Road around 3pm Thursday, January 17th remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Injured 83 Year Old Male Pedestrian Stable on General Ward

Around 11am Monday, January 21st police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel were dispatched to a reported collision involving a car and a pedestrian outside Quickie Lickie Laundromat off Serpentine Road in the City of Hamilton.

It appears that an 83 year old Hamilton parish man was walking along the sidewalk in front of the laundromat when a car being driven out of the parking lot struck him.

The injured pedestrian was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance and at last check this afternoon (January 22nd) was listed in stable condition on a general ward.
