Two Motorcyclists Hurt in Paget Collision [Updated]

Around 5am today (July 7th) police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported collision involving two motorcycles on South Road in Paget, near the junction with Southcote Road.

It appears that the two motorcyclists were traveling in opposite directions along South Road when the collision occurred.

The riders, believed to be a 61 year old Hamilton parish man and a 28 year old Hamilton parish woman, were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of their injuries.

At last check Saturday evening, both were said to be listed in stable condition on a general ward.

There were no other injuries reported. However, both motorcycles were damaged.

Traffic was diverted away from the area for approximately two hours while the scene was processed.

Update: Monday, July 9th - At last check this morning (July 9th) the two motorcyclists injured in a collision on South Road in Paget near the junction with Southcote Road around 5am Saturday, July 7th – a 61 year old Hamilton parish man and a 28 year old Hamilton parish woman – each continued to recover in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are now asked to call Constable Anthony Smith on the main police telephone number 295-0011.
