Rider Hurt in Single Vehicle Motorcycle Crash in Paget Sunday Night

Around 9:15pm Sunday, July 21st a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash occurred on South Road in Paget near the junction with Cataract Hill.

It appears that the motorcyclist involved, said to be a 38 year old Pembroke man, was traveling east on South Road in the vicinity of Paraquet Restaurant when he struck the kerb.

Information from witnesses at the scene suggested that the 38 year old man was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The injured rider was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of various wounds – including head wounds – and later discharged.

He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of impaired driving. Traffic in the area was reduced to one lane while the scene was processed.

A Week Later Driver Remains Stable in ICU After Two Car Collision

At last check this morning (July 22nd) the 58 year old male driver injured in a two car collision that occurred around 2:40am Sunday, July 14th on South Road in Paget, near the junction with Happy Talk Lane, remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses are still asked to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.

Advisory: Theft From Unattended Parked Motorcycles

The Bermuda Police Service is aware of recent thefts from unattended parked motorcycles, where an unknown culprit or culprits remove personal items from under motorcycle seats and inside storage boxes.

Residents are advised to be vigilant about where they park their motorcycles – particularly overnight (well-lit areas are preferable) and it is strongly recommended that any valuable items be removed before leaving motorcycles parked and unattended.

Members of the public are encouraged to report any suspicious individuals or activity around unattended parked motorcycles to the main police telephone number 295-0011 at the earliest opportunity – providing as much information as possible about the location and time of any suspicious behaviour, as well as a description of the suspect(s) involved, if possible.
