Reported Serious Two Motorcycle Collision in Southampton [Updated]

Police and first responders attended a report of a road traffic collision that took place at 1:23pm today on Middle Road in Southampton in the area of Jews Bay. Details are sketchy but it appears that two motorcycles collided resulting in both parties being conveyed to the hospital with injuries that appear to be serious. The area has been cordoned off and traffic is presently being diverted whilst the scene is being processed by the relevant police officers.

Update: Around 1:25pm on Wednesday, September 21st police and first responders attended a reported serious two vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Avocado Lane.

It appears that two motorcyclists were overtaking a van in the vicinity of Jews Bay when the first, carrying a pillion passenger, slid out and collided with the roadside railing. Apparently the second motorcyclist, in an attempt to avoid the first, also slid out on the wet road.

All three individuals were injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

At last check the pillion passenger, an 18 year old Sandys parish man, was in stable condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit while the two riders, an 18 year old Southampton man and a 22 year old Warwick man, had been discharged.
