Police and first responders attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision that took place at 3:45am on Church Street.

Details are still developing but it appears that a 39 year old man was traveling east on Church Street on a motorcycle when he lost control and collided with a shipping container parked on the right hand side of the road just past MarketPlace.

The man was taken to the hospital via ambulance and his condition appears to be serious.

The scene has been cordoned off and the scene is being processed by the relevant officers.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact police on 295-0011.

Update: Please be advised the 39 year old man has died as a result of injuries sustained in the road traffic collision on Church Street.

No further information will be given until the next of kin has been notified.
