Reported Serious Car Crash in Southampton [Updated]

Around 2am Sunday, April 16th‎ police and first responders were dispatched to a reported serious single vehicle car crash on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Granaway Heights Road.

Details are limited at this time. However it appears that the car involved struck a wall.

Apparently three men were initially trapped in the vehicle and extricated by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel.

Two were taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time, but an update on their condition will be provided in due course.

The relevant police personnel processed the scene and traffic was diverted in‎ the area for over two hours before the damaged vehicle was towed away.

Update: At last check a 20 year old man believed to be from Pembroke and said to be a passenger in the car that crashed around 2am Sunday on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Granaway Heights Road was in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital in stable condition.

The other injured person, a 26 year old man believed to be from Southampton and said to be the driver of the car, was having a hip injury medically assessed at the hospital and was expected to be admitted to a general ward.

The third man involved, a 31 year old also believed to be from Southampton and said to be another passenger in the vehicle, did not attend the hospital. The extent of any injuries he may have sustained remains unclear.
