Proactive Policing Results in Arrests for Firearm, Ammunition & Drug Offences

Police officers conducting ongoing enquiries regarding a specific investigation had cause to stop a car in the St. Mary’s Road, Warwick area Tuesday evening (August 15th).

A firearm and a quantity of ammunition were seized. Two men in the vehicle were subsequently arrested in connection with the matter. One of the men was also arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled drug.

Both men remain in police custody at this time pending further enquiries.

Sudden Death of Rosina Bean

The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 85 year old Rosina Bean and extends sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Ms. Bean, a local resident returning to Bermuda on a scheduled American Airlines flight from Miami Monday evening, became unconscious en route and despite lifesaving efforts was subsequently pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

As previously stated there are no suspicious circumstances.

Community Outreach Clinic Friday on Court Street

The Central Community Action Team invites the public to join them for a community outreach clinic in the Court Street, Elliot Street Pembroke area from 12 noon until 4pm Friday, 18th August 2017. In addition, officers will be conducting foot patrols in the area to speak to residents that may not be in a position to visit the clinic.

This Community Outreach Clinic will provide the opportunity for members of the public to speak to their Pembroke Parish Community Action Team officer PC 991 Arthur Dill and voice their concerns about any issues that they are experiencing in their neighborhoods or in Bermuda on a whole.

In addition, the Community Action Team officers present that day will provide crime prevention and Neighborhood Watch Group set-up information along with promoting the objectives of the Bermuda Police Service.
