Police Patrols Continue Search for 14 Year Old Destiny Winters [Located]

Police officers continued their search for 14 year old Destiny Winters this morning (Tuesday, January 21st), eleven days after she left her designated Government Care Facility without permission on the evening of Friday, January 10th.

The teen remains unaccounted for and despite searching several locations this morning, she was not located by police. However, efforts to confirm her whereabouts are ongoing.

The Bermuda Police Service believes that there is potential imminent risk to the 14 year old CedarBridge Academy student and renews the appeal for the public’s assistance in finding her.

As a reminder, Destiny is described as brown complexioned, approximately 5 feet 6 inches tall, weighing around 130 pounds with her hair said to be dyed black, short and curly.

She was last seen wearing a black rain jacket, shorts as well as black Nike sneakers and is known to frequent locations in Pembroke including Fentons Drive, Parsons Road, St. Augustine Hill, Middletown, One Way Deepdale and The Glebe Road.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of 14 year old Destiny Winters is urged to immediately call police on 295-0011 or her designated Government Care Facility on 292-3699.

The public is reminded that harbouring a juvenile is an offence punishable under the law.

Update: Wednesday, January 22nd - 14 year old Destiny Winters has been located and returned to the care of the Department of Child and Family Services.

Three Car Collision in Southampton: No Serious Injuries Reported

Around 7:55am Monday, January 20th police and fellow first responders were dispatched to a reported three vehicle collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Avocado Lane.

It appears that the first car was traveling west on Middle Road when the driver, said to be a 57 year old Warwick woman, overtook another vehicle approaching a bend and collided with the second car being driven in the opposite direction in the vicinity of Jews Bay.

The third car was being driven east on Middle Road behind the second car and collided into the rear of that vehicle.

The driver of the first car was hurt, as well as the driver of the second car, said to be a 66 year old Sandys parish woman. Both were transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were described as non-life threatening.

Apparently the driver of the third car, said to be a 27 year old Southampton woman and her passenger, were not hurt.

However, all three vehicles involved and a roadside wall were damaged.
