Ongoing Witness Appeal: Saturday’s Fatal Collision

The Bermuda Police Service extends condolences to the family and friends of 49 year old Winston Jones of Devonshire.

Witnesses are still being sought regarding the fatal two motorcycle collision that occurred around 12:30pm Saturday October 18th at the junction of Court Street and Reid Street in the City of Hamilton, claiming the life of motorcyclist Mr. Jones.

At last check the other rider involved, a 25 year old Paget man, was in stable condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. The son and pillion passenger of Mr. Jones’ motorcycle, a 14 year old Devonshire boy, was also injured in the collision; however he was treated at the hospital and later discharged.

Man Injured in Fall From Ladder

Around 12 noon on Saturday, October 18th first responders attended a report of a man injured after falling off a ladder outside a Longford Road, Warwick residence. The victim, believed to be a 35 year old male contract worker, was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment. At last check, he was in stable condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit. Inquiries into this incident are ongoing.

Update: Reported Serious Motorcycle Collision in Devonshire

At last check the 51 year old Hamilton parish man injured in a reported single vehicle motorcycle collision on South Road in Devonshire near the junction with Tee Street around 12:10am Thursday, October 16th was in critical condition at the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Inquiries are ongoing and any witnesses that have not already come forward are encouraged to contact PC Ian Scotton on the main police telephone number 295-0011.

Weekend Police Activity

Over the weekend police officers arrested two people on suspicion of impaired driving as the Selective Traffic Enforcement Programme (STEP) continues.

Officers also arrested two people for outstanding warrants and conducted liquor license checks at various liquor licensed premises throughout the island.
