Motorcyclist in ICU & Mini-Bus Driver Escapes Injury After Separate Crashes

Around 10:25 pm on Saturday, 2nd July, 2022, officers were dispatched to a report of a serious road traffic collision involving a single vehicle near the Bermuda Aquarium, Museum and Zoo (BAMZ) on North Shore Road, Flatts Village.

Reports are a 24-year-old male was riding a motorcycle east on North Shore Road, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle and collided with a wall just east of BAMZ.

He was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where at last check, he was in the Intensive Care Unit receiving treatment for possibly serious head injuries.

Traffic had to be diverted along Harrington Sound Road while the scene of the collision was processed by the Forensics Unit along with Traffic Collision Investigators.

Meanwhile, around 5:11 a.m. today, Monday 4th July, 2022, police were called out to a single vehicle collision on the Middle Road, Flatts Village, near the junction with Harrington Sound Road.

It appears the driver of a mini-bus lost control of the vehicle and collided with a wall adjacent to Rustico’s restaurant on the Brightside Apartments property.

There were no reported injuries. 

There were traffic delays while a crane was used to remove the vehicle which had toppled onto its side
