Man Injured in Sandys Parish Rental Cycle Crash Airlifted Overseas

At last check earlier this morning (June 14th) the man injured when the rental cycle he was riding struck a wall around 7:40pm Monday, June 12th on Somerset Road in Sandys parish near the junction with Cambridge Road, had been airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.

The victim, said to be a guest worker, was initially treated in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital and thought to be 26 years old.

However, he was later confirmed to be 32 years old.

Inquiries continue and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.

Boy Injured in Motocross Cycle Crash Recovering on General Ward

At last check earlier this morning (June 14th) the 8 year old boy injured in a motocross cycle crash on West Pembroke Primary School field around 2:25pm Sunday, June 4th had been transferred from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to a general ward in stable condition.
