Man Dies After Fall from North Shore Road, Pembroke Cliff [Updated]

Around 11:45am Tuesday, October 17th police and first responders were dispatched to a report of a man that fell overboard off a cliff on North Shore Road near the junction with Berkeley Road in Pembroke.

‎The man, believed to be in his 60s from Sandys parish, was retrieved from the water in an unresponsive state and given CPR which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance.

However sadly, the man was later pronounced dead.

Identification of the deceased is anticipated in due course after his next of kin has been notified.

The scene is currently being processed and inquiries continue.

Update: The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 67 year old Stephen Proctor.

Mr. Proctor fell overboard off a cliff on North Shore Road, Pembroke near the junction with Berkeley Road around 11:45am today (October 17th).

‎Despite CPR at the scene and during transport via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, he was later pronounced dead.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist Mr. Proctor’s family at this difficult time.

Foul play is not suspected. However, anyone with information regarding Mr. Proctor’s whereabouts in the hours leading up to his untimely death is encouraged to come forward as inquiries continue.
