Man Convicted of Assaulting Police Officer

Last week Mr. Edmund Smith was convicted in Magistrates’ Court of assaulting Inspector Scott Devine outside the House of Assembly on 2nd December 2016.
The 52 year old was sentenced to one year imprisonment by Magistrate Archibald Warner for the offence.
Condition Updates
At last check earlier this morning (May 26th) the 17 year old male shot and injured around 11:15pm Friday, May 19th in the North Shore Road, Glebe Road Devonshire area had been transferred from the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit to a general ward in stable condition. He is expected to be discharged later today.
The investigation continues regarding this confirmed firearm incident and any witnesses or persons that saw suspicious activity in the North Shore Road, Glebe Road Devonshire area around 11:15pm Friday are urged to contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.
Separately, at last check earlier this morning (May 26th) the 46 year old male motorcyclist believed to be from Smith’s parish injured in a collision with a truck around 11pm Friday, May 19th on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near Odyssey Drive, remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.
