Investigation Into Twelfth Road Fatality Continuing

At last check earlier this morning (October 30th) the injured 29 year old woman said to be from Warwick and believed to be the driver in Saturday night’s fatal car crash was in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

The crash claimed the life of 30 year old Rakai Augustus and a Family Liaison Officer is assisting the deceased’s family as inquiries continue.

The 29 year old woman involved was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving as per protocol in the Road Traffic Act 1947, which applies to any collision where serious injury or death occurs.

Any witnesses that have not yet come forward regarding the fatal crash around 11:40pm Saturday‎, October 28th in the Wellington Street, York Street St. George's area between Rose Hill Street and Fort George Hill are urged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.

Two Weeks Later Injured 30 Year Old Motorcyclist Remains in ICU

At last check earlier this morning (October 30th) the 30 year old male motorcyclist from Pembroke injured in a collision with a car that occurred around 12:10am Saturday, October 14th at the junction of Elliot Street and Union Street in the City of Hamilton remained in stable condition in the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit.

Rider & Pillion Passenger Injured Friday Night Recovering

At last check earlier this morning (October 30th) the 31 year old male rider believed to be from Pembroke and 24 year old female pillion passenger injured when a car collided with the auxiliary cycle they were travelling on around 9pm Friday, October 27th at the junction of Court Street and Dundonald Street in the City of Hamilton were both recovering in stable condition on a general ward at the hospital.

Driver Injured After Car Strikes Utility Pole Treated & Discharged

At last check earlier this morning (October 30th) the 33 year old woman believed to be from Southampton hurt when the car she was driving struck a utility pole around 2:10am Saturday, October 28th in the South Road, Horseshoe Road Southampton area had been treated at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for her injuries and later discharged.
