Industrial Accident

Around 2:18pm today [July 29], first responders attended an industrial accident that took place at Pink Beach on South Road in Smiths.
A 62 year old man was operating heavy equipment, when that heavy equipment fell over an embankment resulting in the man being trapped. The man was later pronounced dead at the scene by an on-call doctor.
Presently officers from the Forensic Support Unit and the Government Health and Safety Department are on the scene.
No further information will be given until the next of kin have been notified.

The Bermuda Police Service would like to advise the motoring public that tonight in the City of Hamilton there will be a major concert as well as Harbor Nights. As such, motorist should be aware of street closures and detours that will be established around Front Street, Reid Street Queen Street and Church Street.
