Flight Diverted to Bermuda Without Incident

At 4:53am Friday 11th April 2014, a Caribbean Airline Flight BW425 travelling from JFK in route to Trinidad with 106 passengers and crew onboard was rerouted to Bermuda as a result of the smell of electrical burning in the cabin. The plane landed incident free. No injuries were reported. The airport terminal was opened to accommodate all 106 passengers and crew. The plane has been grounded and the passengers are presently on island awaiting passage to their final destination.

Driving Whilst Impaired

Police were on mobile patrol this morning at 2:49 on Church Street and Cedar Avenue when they noticed a car travelling on Church Street in an erratic manner. The driver of the car was subsequently stopped and the officers noticed her breath smelled of alcohol, her eyes were glazed over, and she was unsteady on her feet. The 33 year old woman was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and taken to Hamilton Police Station where she failed the breath test; she was then process and detained.
