Fatal Stabbing & Injury Stabbing Not Believed to be Linked

Mon, 2017-03-06

Around 11pm Sunday, March 5th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported disturbance along Crow Lane in Pembroke, in the vicinity of Blue Waters Anglers Club.

It appears that two men were involved in an altercation.

One of the men involved, a 28 year old Devonshire man, was injured and rushed via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.

No further information regarding the deceased will be released at this time, until next of kin has been notified.

A suspect was subsequently arrested in connection with the fatal stabbing.

A full investigation is underway and any witnesses should contact the Serious Crime Unit on 247-1739 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline 800-8477.

In an apparently separate incident around 3am Sunday, March 5th police responded to a reported disturbance on Front Street in the City of Hamilton, in the vicinity of Bermuda Bistro at the Beach.

Initial information suggests that two men, believed to be a 37 year old Warwick man and a 31 year old Devonshire man, were stabbed and attended hospital for treatment.

The Warwick man was treated and later discharged, while the Devonshire man was in stable condition on a general ward at last check this morning (March 6th).

Inquiries continue. However at this stage it does not appear that the Crow Lane disturbance and the Front Street disturbance are linked.

Any witnesses to the Front Street disturbance should contact the Criminal Investigation Department on 247-1744.
