Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Malabar Road [Updated]

Around 1:55am Saturday, July 27th police, Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service and ambulance personnel responded to a reported serious single vehicle crash on Malabar Road in Sandys parish involving a motorcyclist.

It appears that the rider, believed to be a 19 year old man, was traveling west on Malabar Road at the time.

He was found seriously injured, in an unresponsive state and was rushed from the scene via ambulance.

Sadly, the young man was later pronounced dead at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Traffic diversions were in place for approximately three hours while the scene was processed.

A full investigation into this latest road fatality - the fifth for 2019 - is underway and any witnesses are urged to call the main police telephone number 295-0011 as soon as possible.

Update: Sunday, July 28th - The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 19 year old Mr. Talundae Grant and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Mr. Grant – understood to be a Warwick resident – was seriously injured in a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash that occurred around 1:55am Saturday, July 27th on Malabar Road in Sandys parish, near Cochrane Road.

The teen rider appeared to have been traveling west on Malabar Road at the time and was found unresponsive in the road.

Despite lifesaving efforts at the scene by EMTs – which continued as he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance – sadly, Mr. Grant was later pronounced dead.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to assist the deceased’s loved ones at this difficult time.
