Fatal Boat Collision in Hamilton Harbour

Around 10:50pm Thursday, June 1st marine police and first responders were dispatched to ‎a reported collision involving vessels in Hamilton harbour.

Details are limited at this time. However, it appears that three smaller boats were involved with four people injured, three men and one woman.

All four were rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance, where the woman was pronounced dead.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned and no further information regarding the deceased will be released at this time until her next of kin has been notified.

The three injured men are still receiving treatment at the hospital. An update on their condition will be provided in due course.

The male operator‎ of one of the vessels involved has been arrested on suspicion of operating a vessel while impaired.
