On behalf of the Commissioner of Police, the BPS Public & Media Relations Unit is proud to announce that the Bermuda Police Service was recognized ‘for going beyond the call of duty to protect and serve the Island and its people’ with a Community Service Award at last night’s 10th annual CableVision ‘Salute to Service’ banquet.

Commissioner of Police Michael DeSilva was on hand at the event, themed ‘Service Above Self’, to receive the award at the Fairmont Southampton Resort - along with several other police officers representing various aspects of policing.

This year’s Community Service Award recipients also included the Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service, the Bermuda Regiment and the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Medical Technicians.

Additional awards and a donation were bestowed Saturday night in front of a packed audience, with dignitaries such as His Excellency the Governor George Fergusson and Premier of Bermuda the Hon. Michael Dunkley in attendance.
